As much as pay per click marketing is an art & science, some people call it a game of numbers & psychology. Anyway all forms of direct marketing, both online & offline are really all about numbers & psychology, as simple as that.

Making Money? Spending Money?

First of some people are afraid to spend money to buy clicks because they are afraid of losing money! Think about this in another way, if for every $ 1 that you put in, you get back $ 1.5, how much more are you willing put in? Now spending money on clicks takes on a different meaning to you.

As you know, not all campaigns make money, when you spend money buying clicks & you get very little leads or zero sales, what do you do? I know these losses can be painful because I was there before. You can choose to be bitter & quit or you can choose to evaluate your campaigns & learn from your mistakes.

In reality, most affiliate campaigns (9 out of 10) actually fail! Those winning campaigns usually make enough money to cover up for the losses plus some money left over as profits. You do need to go through a some losing campaigns to find those super hot winning ones. Eventually, it is all worth it!

Winners are actually losers who learn from their mistakes. Winners may sometimes lose a battle, however nothing stops them from winning the entire war. If you forget everything, just remember what I just said.

Breaking Even?

Whenever I break even or a make a tiny loss on a campaign, I would usually get quite excited because all I need to do is write better ads to improve my click through rates, make some improvements on my landing pages & in no time, I would be in the black.

Making Profits?

When I make some profits, I will not stop there, as always, I would create more compelling ads to get more clicks, make my landing pages convert better & before I know it, a small campaign can become much profitable than when I just started it. Sometimes I even expand my traffic by getting organic traffic.

Conclusion

In short, when you make mistakes, learn from it & move on. When you make profits scale it up. Keep a marketing journal to keep track of the changes you made, what made more money, what made less money & such stuff. After all, things that you do not keep a record, you will eventually forget.
