AdWords Vs the World – Choosing the Best Marketing Tool

With the incredible success of Google AdWords, the market is a flush with other companies offering paid advertising through PPC (pay per click). Is it best to go with AdWords or is it best to try others?

Competition is ever increasing online, and as it does, the price increases with it. There are only a limited number of spots to advertise, and as such, the person willing to pay the most will generally win.

Google AdWords is the most used PPC Engine. There are advertisers paying as much as $ 100 a click for certain keywords. Thankfully (for us as Affiliate Marketers/Small Business Owners) the big businesses haven’t really started to understand how powerful internet marketing is. However, when they do, expect the price to skyrocket.

So, with that said, should you use the cheaper lower tier PPC companies? Keywords costing $ 5 a click could cost as little as $ 0.05! Surely only a idiot would spend 100x the price. However, there is a reason Google is so expensive, and why so many people use it.

Imagine if I offered to advertise for you. I will go to a shopping center and speak to people about your product. You pay me 10 cents for every person I speak to, but you don’t get to see me doing it. You have to totally trust me when I tell you how many people I have spoken to. Would you do it? Of course you wouldn’t! Why would you trust me? I could spend the time lounging around smoking and say that I spoke to a million people.

When you advertise on websites, rather than using a Search Network, you are trusting that people aren’t having their friends and family click your ads to make them money. While Google spends a fortune analyzing all clicks, smaller companies don’t have the resources to do so. Also, a fair few companies have been shown to use “bots” to generate clicks.

Quite often I receive refunds from Google because of suspicious clicks. I have never received the same discount from the smaller companies without me literally threatening to never use their service again.

Now, I’m not saying that you should never use other PPC companies’, however, until you have a lot of experience under your belt, you should stick with Google. You need to have the experience to know when high clicks but low sales are because of your ad copy, rather than a con artist taking your money.

There are ways to make AdWords cheaper. Perfecting your advertisements through split testing will allow you to massively increase your CTR (Click Through Ratio). Google rewards effective advertisements with cheaper prices. Instead of trying to find cheaper places to advertise, spend the time perfecting your art. If you are having a very hard time making a profit because a keyword is just too expensive, then use another keyword. Long Tail keywords are keywords with relatively low monthly search traffic, but combined with many others can give you huge traffic for a very low price. Long tail keywords are generally much more targeted that the broader, more expensive keywords. Use them!

To Your Success!

CPA Or Affiliate Marketing, Choosing the Right Direction

The loss of employment in the USA has averaged roughly 560,000 new claims since the start of the 2009 calender year. Worldwide the figures are even more staggering with entire industries shutting their doors due to the extreme economic recession. That being said there is one industry, off the beaten path, that is thriving in this tough economic climate.

What you ask could possibly be thriving? The answer might surprise you, it’s Affiliate Marketing. It also may surprise you that there is no recession on the Internet.

The trend for many laid off workers has been toward the Internet and their personal computers. Most certainly a search for a home business will turn up many Affiliate marketing opportunities. What is Affiliate Marketing anyway? The Idea is rather simple and has been around for a long time. The Internet has presented Marketers with an excellent platform to ply their wares. Affiliates piggyback on these marketers selling their products and are compensated on a commission basis.

Affiliate marketers have a wide variety of products to choose from and are offered by large and small companies alike. Sales of these products can generate anywhere from 25% to 90% of the profits per sale of an item just by driving customers to the sales page where they buy the product. Many companies utilize these marketing methods to expose their products to a greater audience rather than attempting to drive traffic to a lone company website. It is cost effective in that possibly thousands of marketers will promote these products at no cost to the parent company.

This type of marketing has been proven to be very lucrative for Affiliates especially for those who promote multiple products aggressively. Some Affiliate programs even offer recurring monthly payments creating residual income that pays over and over generating even more income. With so many companies realizing the benefits of offering their products to Affiliate marketers it has created a virtually unlimited source for income.

One type of Affiliate marketing is what is called “CPA” or click per action. Unlike some forms of Affiliate marketing CPA offers might pay a commission for a visitor simply filling out an email address or completing a short form with no purchase necessary. CPA Networks are a trend that has given affiliates a new and exciting industry with a tremendous amount of promise.

The attraction for those entering the Affiliate marketing arena needs little hype. The specific criteria for entering the field are few. Those with a small amount of computer savvy, a fair amount of desire and commitment can easily research and promote good products for maximum profit.

Holding Back from Choosing Your Affiliate Marketing Niche?

It’s the perfect niche!  Or is it?  The other ones were better.  I’ll work on all of them!

Sound familiar?
Are you one who procrastinates, or paces trying to make a decision while the computer goes into save mode?  Let’s get you on your way to promoting that perfect niche.

It can be frustrating wanting to start something new and wanting to do it well.  No one likes failure.
You either started with the idea that you have a hobby or an idea, and just knew you could make money from it somehow or, you really wanted to make money working from home and loved the idea of  being able to let your day job go bye-bye.

That first niche you picked?  Let’s make that your niche and hit the road running.
Let’s face it, one would be hard pressed to find that golden idea that hasn’t been done in Affiliate Marketing.  We all would love to think so, and maybe I’m wrong, but, today we need to make some income.

There isn’t any wrong niche . . . it’s all in how you promote it and how you run your Affiliate Marketing business.  I can guarantee that if you truly put in the time, you will make money at any niche you choose to market.  Affiliate Marketing is all about getting the consumer to the product.  That is your job.

NOW . . . all those other niches you’ve been stewing over?  Keep them in a notebook and save them for your next campaign.  You are going to work this first great niche hard until you have sucked everything out of it that you can.  If you want to make money at this, you are going to work this baby daily and though you will be learning as you go, you need to be taking active steps.  No more pacing and pondering and reading endless website testimonies.  This is your time to act.

One of the biggest reasons people stop progressing in their Affiliate Marketing plan, is that they get excited and move forward trying to work with several niches at a time.  You will end up all over the place and before you know it, you will be confused, overwhelmed and disheartened.  Do yourself a favor and focus all your attention on your one niche.  Pick it – Love it – Work it!

You will want to go on to branch out your niche to several smaller niches (if you chose gardening, list things like garden hoes, gardening books, garden themes, etc . . . ) and find Affiliate Marketing Programs that want to pay you to advertise or write about their products.  You can spend all day listing and applying to these Affiliate Network companies.  There is an Affiliate program for almost anthing you can think of.  Then you”re off to find your favorite avenue for promoting them.  This is another list full of opportunities.  It is exciting and only frustrating if you let it be.

I love this work, and I would be thrilled to help others avoid the time-wasting efforts I took to get here.  Watch for my other articles and visit my blog anytime you want a boost.  I am straight-forward and will never steer you toward any Affiliate Marketing scams!

So . . . your niche?  Pick it – Love it – and Work it!
